Overview

The Associate Director, SAM Operations role will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing the operational aspects of the SAM Solutions program under the guidance and leadership of Senior Director, SAM Program Office. This role will be responsible for running efficient operations to enable the execution of above-brand solutions for Alnylam’s organized customers, while collaborating closely with strategic accounts and cross-functional teams to drive joint value creation for Alnylam and the organized customers.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

A successful Associate Director, SAM Operations will be a dynamic, experienced individual with distinct ability to:

 

  1. Lead the development of an effective operational strategy that aligns with the SAM solution strategy, ensuring attainment of SAM program objectives
    • Formulate operational strategies, under the leadership of SAM Program Office, which are aligned with the SAM solutions program objectives set by the SAM Solutions Liaison
    • Craft operational plans and collaborate with the SAM Solutions Liaison to ensure seamless integration of operational plans with above-brand solution strategies
    • Design KPIs to monitor and analyze operational performance of the above-brand solution implemented withing organized provider settings

 

  1. Drive strategic operational implementation, ensuring accountability for operational excellence at key strategic accounts in close collaboration with the SAM solutions team
    • Orchestrate the execution of operational plans, including contract negotiations, customer services etc., in collaboration with SAM solutions team, with organized customers to achieve SAM program goals
    • Ensure compliance with internal policies, industry regulations, and legal standards in all operational activities
    • Utilize data-driven insights from performance metrics to identify improvement opportunities and required optimization fostering enhanced program outcomes

 

 

 

  1. Synergize efforts with cross-functional teams empowering a unified vision to execute operational plans
    • Lead cross-functional collaboration efforts with Commercial/Brand Marketing, Medical, Patient Services, Legal and Compliance, IT, and Data Analytics teams to ensure alignment and effective execution of operational plans
    • Work along side members of SAM team, including, solutions team, National/Regional account director teams to deliver a unified SAM program experience to the organized customer

 

Qualifications

  • BA/BS Degree required in life science or business
  • 8+ years of pharmaceutical/biopharma experience in operations management including contract logistics, preferably with organized customers
  • Understanding of key account management with organized customers
  • Knowledge of US and Global compliance guidelines, laws, and practices
  • Capability to understand and communicate complex operational concepts to a range of stakeholders, including executive audiences
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for effective internal and external collaboration, negotiation, conflict resolution, and consensus-building across diverse cultures and disciplines as well as ability to motivate, influence, and support others
  • Demonstrated ability to manage cross-functional teams or working groups
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to think critically, challenge conclusions and underlying assumptions
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft; Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to think strategically and champion ideas that benefit not only the Organized Customer department, but Alnylam as a whole

Additional Preferred Experience

  • MBA or advanced degree
  • Deep understanding of rare disease landscape, including patient journey, market dynamics, and access challenges
