Overview

 

The CNS Research Group at Alnylam is seeking a self-driven Associate Scientist II with expertise in tissue analysis, sample management and automation to join our innovative, fast faced, and interdisciplinary team.  We particularly seek someone who is detail-oriented, and who will flourish in a goal driven team environment under ambitious timelines. The successful candidate will be technically skilled, self-motivated, and have the flexibility to work in a well networked team that responds rapidly to changing condition.

 

This position is onsite and will be primarily located in Cambridge, MA.  

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Successful candidate will be working with the CNS platform and program teams to evaluate and characterize compounds utilizing in vivo rodent models.
  • Plan and execute studies in consultation with the scientists in the group, including the analysis, interpretation, and presentation of the scientific results. 
  • Responsible for data entry, data analysis in a timely manner, and preparation of clearly articulated experimental reports.
  • Manage inventory of nonclinical compounds, samples, and reference materials for in vivo studies cross various groups.
  • Ability to learn new techniques quickly, and continuously improve efficiency of in vivo and ex vivo workflow cross teams.

 

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field.
  • 0-4 years of work experience, preferably in an industrial setting.
  • Experience in molecular biology techniques including RNA/DNA/protein extraction, qPCR, and ELISA.
  • Experience in rodent handling, dosing, and blood/tissue collection and necropsy. Specific experience in CNS dosing (IT, and ICV) is a plus but not required.
  • Experience in automation systems including liquid handlers is highly desirable.
  • Ability to follow SOP/IACUC, execute, analyze, interpret, troubleshoot, and optimize experiments.
  • Excellent lab technique and the ability to work independently.
  • Good documentation of all experimental procedures and results in compliance with Electronic Lab Notebook guidelines
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills

U.S. Pay Range

$67,800.00 - $95,600.00

The pay range reflects the full-time base salary range we expect to pay for this role at the time of posting. Base pay will be determined based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, skills, and education. This role is eligible for an annual short-term incentive award (e.g., bonus or sales incentive) and an annual long-term incentive award (e.g., equity).
