Overview:

The RNA Synthesis team is seeking a motivated individual to join our Annealing and Testing group as an Associate Scientist II.  The Annealing and Testing group is responsible for the quality control of single stranded RNA using analytical techniques such as liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry.  In addition the group is responsible for formulating high quality test articles (siRNA) to support research efforts across multiple therapeutic areas.

 

This position is onsite and will be located at our 675 W. Kendall St. location in Cambridge, MA.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of analytical samples.
  • Analysis of synthetic RNA using analytical techniques such as HPLC and MS, to confirm identity and determine purity of product.
  • Formulation and quality analysis of test articles (siRNA), by LCMS, UV spectroscopy and osmometry.
  • Perform Bacterial Endotoxin Test (BET).
  • Work closely with the team and cross-functionally to ensure required timelines are met.
  • Organize, analyze and interpret data for presentation to team members and larger audiences within the research organization.
  • Provide analytical support for various groups across research and early development, as needed.

 

Qualifications:

  • BS Chemistry, Biochemistry or related discipline with 0-2 years of work experience.
  • Experience with analytical instrumentation such as HPLC, LCMS, UV-VIS is required.
  • Experience in solid-phase synthesis of biomolecules is preferred.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, good organization skills, the ability to multitask, and the ability to work within a team and/or independently are required.
  • Complete record-keeping and excellent laboratory documentation practice (electronic notebook) are required.
