Overview

 

The research and development-based transcriptomics team is seeking motivated and reliable Research Associate Scientist II. The focus will be on performing gene expression experiments to support lead drug candidates screening, target and biomarker discovery, and translational research. The position is heavily experimental and requires a passion for lab work, data generation, and assays optimization. 

 

This position is onsite and will be primarily located in Cambridge, MA.  

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Execute day to day operations for bulk RNASeq sample preparation, including RNA isolation, library preparation, QC and sequencing.
  • Responsible for the operation and maintenance of NGS equipment and supplies
  • Maintain samples and oversee logistics of data generation and collection. Work with the bioinformatics group to streamline and improve data collection and analytical processes.
  • Prepare protocols and data reports
  • Troubleshoot technical problems and participate in the continuing development and optimization of existing and new protocols and technologies
  • Assist additional personnel / projects as needed
  • Adaptwell to the changing platform needs, in workflow, projects and other tasks as required by the platform.

 

Qualifications

 

  • A BS in a biological science with at least 2 years of hands-on laboratory experience in molecular /cell biology are required 
  • Experience with NGS methods   is desired, including Illumina, ONT, single cell and spatial platforms
  • Experienced with laboratory automation such as Beckman i7 or other systems will be a plus
  • Intense orientation to details orientation, accuracy, reliability and precision when executing experiments in the laboratory. 
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, desire to drive innovation, and willingness to learn.
  • Team player, strong motivation and commitment, proactive mindset, getting things done attitude.
