Overview 

The Director of Corporate Responsibility will lead key components of Alnylam’s corporate responsibility strategy, including philanthropic initiatives, employee engagement, and community partnerships. This role blends strategy, execution, and relationship‑building to deliver meaningful outcomes for communities, employees, and the business. Reporting to the Head of Corporate Responsibility and DEI, the Director will provide both strategic guidance and hands‑on program leadership while delivering measurable social and business outcomes. This role manages one direct report and frequently represents Alnylam at nonprofit, industry, and community events across the Boston area.

This is a hybrid position based at Alnylam’s corporate headquarters in Cambridge, MA.

Responsibilities

  • Drive implementation of philanthropic programs, including signature giving initiatives and global volunteer efforts.
  • Manage nonprofit partnerships, grants, budgets, and vendors to ensure effective program delivery.
  • Represent Alnylam at community, nonprofit, and industry events to strengthen relationships and elevate visibility.
  • Lead employee engagement initiatives including giving campaigns, matching gifts, and skills‑based volunteering.
  • Collaborate with employee resource networks and cross‑functional teams on community engagement.
  • Partner with Communications to translate impact into compelling stories, materials, and executive‑ready content.
  • Contribute to corporate responsibility and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) reporting.
  • Manage, coach, and develop corporate responsibility team member.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in corporate responsibility, or related fields.
  • Proven ability to design and execute corporate responsibility strategies that drive measurable results.
  • Experience managing nonprofit partnerships, grantmaking, and employee engagement programs.
  • Strong program and project management skills with the ability to balance multiple priorities.
  • Exceptional communicator with experience developing impact stories and executive materials.
  • Experience managing budgets and vendors.
  • Executive presence with senior leaders and external audiences.
  • Industry experience and exposure to ESG strategy/reporting preferred.

 

U.S. Pay Range

$188,000.00 - $254,400.00

The pay range reflects the full-time base salary range we expect to pay for this role at the time of posting. Base pay will be determined based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, skills, and education. This role is eligible for an annual short-term incentive award (e.g., bonus or sales incentive) and an annual long-term incentive award (e.g., equity).
