Overview:


The Director of G&A Finance is a strategic and highly visible finance leader responsible for managing the financial performance and planning for the General and Administrative functions of the company. In this role, you will be the key finance business partner for the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO), Chief Legal Officer (CLO), and the Ethics and Compliance organization. The successful candidate will provide financial oversight and strategic insights that support sound decision-making and operational excellence in these critical areas of the business.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Strategic Financial Partnership: Act as the primary financial business partner for the CHRO, CLO, and Ethics and Compliance leadership, as well as a few smaller G&A functions. Provide strategic decision support and financial modeling to help functional leaders manage their budgets effectively.
  • Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A): Lead all aspects of the annual budget, long-range planning, and recurring forecasting processes for the CHRO, CLO, and Ethics and Compliance organizations.
    • Develop detailed financial models and analysis to support planning and strategic initiatives, including headcount management, compensation planning, legal spend, and compliance program investments.
    • Provide timely and accurate budget-to-actual variance analysis and actionable insights to drive informed decision-making.
  • Financial Reporting and Controls:
    • Support the month-end and quarter-end close processes by partnering with the Accounting team to ensure accurate financial reporting, including expense tracking and accruals for the supported functions.
    • Ensure compliance with corporate policies related to procurement, vendor management, and expenses for G&A functions
  • Operational Excellence:
    • Provide financial oversight for significant investments and costs related to HR programs (e.g., workforce planning, employee development, benefits), legal matters (e.g., litigation, Intellectual Property), and compliance initiatives (e.g., training, investigations).
    • Collaborate with business partners to identify opportunities for cost optimization and process efficiency while balancing risk mitigation and strategic goals.
  • Leadership and Team Management:
    • While this is an individual contributor role, the candidate must show an ability to foster a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
    • Develop and implement standardized finance processes to promote efficiency and strong financial discipline across the organization.

 

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field required. An MBA and/or a professional certification such as a CPA or CFA is a plus.
  • Experience: A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in finance, with at least 3 years in a leadership role, preferably within the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry. Prior experience as a finance business partner to HR, Legal, or Compliance functions is a strong plus.
  • Skills:
    • Exceptional financial modeling, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
    • Proven ability to work effectively across departments, influence decisions with senior leadership, and build strong relationships with business partners.
    • Deep understanding of accounting principles (GAAP), internal controls, and financial reporting.
    • Expert-level proficiency in Excel and financial planning software (e.g., Adaptive Insights).
    • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly.
  • Mindset: A proactive, continuous improvement mindset with the agility to adapt to a fast-paced and evolving business environment. A high level of integrity and a strong sense of urgency are essential.

 

 

 

U.S. Pay Range

$184,700.00 - $249,900.00

 

The pay range reflects the full-time base salary range we expect to pay for this role at the time of posting. Base pay will be determined based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, skills, and education. This role is eligible for an annual short-term incentive award (e.g., bonus or sales incentive) and an annual long-term incentive award (e.g., equity).
