Overview

The Director of Marketing, Medical Education Lead will lead national strategy and execution for HCP education and peer-to-peer engagement across the TTR franchise. This individual will lead the development of scalable, innovative, and high-impact initiatives that support brand goals, close educational gaps, and elevate AMVUTTRA’s presence across key stakeholder groups. This role requires a visionary, cross-functional leader who can drive strategic alignment across the organization, lead enterprise-wide initiatives, and serve as an internal champion for HCP engagement. 

 

Reporting to the Senior Director, US TTR MedEd & TLL, the Director will lead a high-performing team, collaborate extensively with internal and external partners, and oversee the development and rollout of programs with broad organizational reach. This position is based in Cambridge, MA with travel up to ~40% for congresses, KOL engagements, and internal planning meetings. 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and evolve the US Commercial medical education and peer-to-peer strategy to ensure long-term alignment with US brand objectives, customer needs, and market dynamics. 
  • Lead, mentor, and coach a team of two marketers, fostering a culture of strategic thinking, accountability, and professional growth. Identify, coach to, and give feedback on team’s goals and progress. 
  • Build and lead cross-functional strategic initiatives in partnership with US Medical, and Global Commercial, and Global Medical counterparts to ensure unified messaging, strategy, and program development across markets. Drive alignment on strategic priorities, share best practices, and integrate insights into a cohesive MedEd strategy. 
  • Lead the KOL engagement strategy in partnership with cross functional leaders to ensure a cohesive, insight driven approach to top tier KOL interactions. This includes leading the cross functional coordination of detailed planning, execution of engagements, follow up and advancement of action items with both KOLs and internal stakeholders to ensure alignment and impact.   
  • Provide strategic leadership and vision for US commercial HCP engagement at national, regional, and super congresses, optimizing presence and educational impact including the booth vision, content, and educational presentations. 
  • Drive the strategic planning and execution of peer-to-peer initiatives, including advisory boards, symposia, and national speaker programs. Ensure content relevance, quality, and differentiation. Collaborate closely with US Medical and the Global Medical and Commercial teams to ensure consistent scientific narrative, coordinated KOL engagement, and synergy in educational strategy. Lead the strategic vision and optimization of the HCP Speakers’ Bureau, including structure, training, and content evolution across the disease and brand portfolios. 
  • Partner with the Thought Leader Liaison (TLL) team to integrate insights and ensure coordinated KOL engagement strategies across touchpoints. 
  • Create and scale engagement strategies for Advanced Practice Providers (APPs), ensure their educational needs and influence are reflected in programming. 
  • Act as a cross-functional leader, collaborating with Legal, Regulatory, Compliance, US Medical, Global Commercial and Medical, and Field Sales to ensure alignment and excellence in execution. 
  • Oversee agency relationships and budget to ensure high-quality delivery of initiatives, effective resource utilization, and strategic alignment. 
  • Track performance of educational initiatives, using data to inform continuous improvement and strategic course correction. 

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced degree in life sciences or marketing strongly preferred. 
  • 10+ years of experience in pharmaceutical or biotech marketing, healthcare consulting, or healthcare agency with a focus on HCP engagement, medical education, or peer-to-peer strategy preferred. 
  • Demonstrate exceptional organizational skills with the ability to develop, lead, and manage multiple complex cross functional projects simultaneously, ensuring all timelines, deliverables, and stakeholder expectations are met. 
  • Maintain a sharp attention to detail while driving strategic initiatives forward, anticipating risks, resolving issues proactively, and ensuring nothing falls through the cracks. Drive seamless execution with strong attention to detail at every stage. 
  • Strong leadership, people management, and talent development skills. 
  • Deep understanding of compliance requirements and experience in highly regulated environments. 
  • Excellent communication and executive presence, with a demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders. 
  • Ability to think strategically, act decisively, and deliver results in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
