Overview

The Medical Director, Global Medical Affairs, ATTR serves as a global medical and scientific leader for ATTR, providing strategic expertise across Global Medical Affairs.

This highly visible role blends scientific leadership, global external engagement, and cross-functional influence to advance evidence generation, medical education, and innovative implementation-science initiatives that support optimal patient identification, diagnosis, and management worldwide.


Key Responsibilities

External Scientific Leadership & Engagement

  • Serve as a global medical expert for ATTR engaging international KOLs and expert centers to advance scientific exchange and collaboration.
  • Lead and support global advisory boards and a major global advisory summit, including agenda development, faculty engagement, and synthesis of actionable insights.
  • Drive scientific discussions focused on disease awareness, diagnostic pathways, and treatment optimization.
  • Represent Global Medical Affairs at major international congresses, symposia, and external scientific forums.
  • Build and sustain strong, trust-based relationships with global thought leaders to inform strategy and identify collaborative opportunities.
  • Generate, synthesize, and disseminate global medical insights to inform strategic decision-making and regional execution.

Global Medical Strategy, Evidence & Internal Leadership

  • Support development and execution of the integrated global medical affairs strategy for ATTR in alignment with senior medical leadership.
  • Lead and advance implementation-science initiatives and screening and diagnostic projects.
  • Provide global medical leadership for scientific communications and publications, serving as a representative on cross-functional strategy teams.
  • Contribute to publication planning, data interpretation, and scientific dissemination across global and regional teams.
  • Partner closely with regional medical teams to ensure consistent scientific narratives, coordinated rollout of initiatives, and bidirectional insight flow.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Clinical Development, VESt, Regulatory, Commercial, and other Medical Affairs partners to support integrated evidence generation.
  • Monitor competitor activity and evolving scientific landscape to inform global medical strategy.
  • Uphold the highest standards of scientific integrity, compliance, and ethical governance across all medical activities.

  • Consistent global scientific narratives and effective dissemination of data and insights.
  • Full adherence to medical governance, compliance, and quality standards.

*This a hybrid role with two days a week onsite presence based in our Cambridge, MA or Philadelphia, PA office.


Qualifications

  • MD, PharmD, or PhD required.
  • 7–10+ years of experience in Clinical Research and/or Medical Affairs within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.
  • Experience in cardiovascular, renal, metabolic or ATTR strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated success engaging global KOLs and leading advisory boards and scientific initiatives.
  • Strong cross-functional leadership skills with ability to influence in a matrixed global environment.
  • Excellent communication, scientific storytelling, and strategic execution capabilities.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-accountability global role.

 

U.S. Pay Range

$238,800.00 - $323,000.00

The pay range reflects the full-time base salary range we expect to pay for this role at the time of posting. Base pay will be determined based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, skills, and education. This role is eligible for an annual short-term incentive award (e.g., bonus or sales incentive) and an annual long-term incentive award (e.g., equity).
