Overview
The Senior Manager of Marketing Operations provides proactive operational oversight and direction on the execution of speaker programs, territory sponsorships, as well as other operational programs and projects as needed. The Sr. Manager assists in the strategy and development of programs in collaboration with our key business partners across Marketing, Sales, and Compliance to ensure alignment of operational processes with business strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Partners with Sales and Marketing teams to evaluate and operationalize speaker bureau programming types and options
- Liaises daily with logistics vendor and internal partners on program execution and adherence to established processes
- Provide proactive operational oversight and direction on the logistical execution of speaker programs and territory sponsorships and adherence to establish processes and business rules
- Develop, maintain, and enhance process documentation and training material
- Shepherd program operational and administrative support materials through the Commercial Review Board (CRB) review process.
- Lead training sessions for key stakeholder teams and ensure understanding and alignment on operational processes and technology platform.
- Execute established quality control processes consistently and confirm adherence to SOPs (attendee management, venue selection, meal cap management, etc.). Work with Compliance on remediation (execution and documentation) when necessary.
- Manage field team inquiries and needs related to program operations and logistics.
- Leverage operational analytics/reporting for consistent reporting/monitoring.
- Gathers requirements for process or technology improvements and partner with Strategic Technologies to enhance Veeva Events technology solution
- Facilitate the annual speaker selection and contracts management process. Lead the tactical work of annual/ongoing Speaker nomination, contracting, and onboarding processes, as well as other speaker-related initiatives.
- Support transfer of value reporting in accordance with state and federal requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required (ideally in business or scientific discipline)
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in pharmaceutical or medical device industry with experience in marketing operations, commercial operations, meetings management and/or marketing
- 2+ years of operational experience managing speaker programs and sponsorships preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel; experience with Veeva Events highly preferred
- Knowledgeable about regulatory, legal and medical requirements for promotional materials and familiar with MRL process; experience with Veeva PromoMats preferred
- Proven project and vendor management skills including budget management, planning, prioritization, objective setting, and logistics execution
- Excellent communications skills with an ability to efficiently and productively communicate both orally and in writing are required
- Strong analytical and organizational abilities
- Proven ability to lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Adept at seeing change as an opportunity to improve business performance and campaigning for it when necessary
