Overview
As part of the Alnylam Commercial Supply Chain organization, the O2C (Order-to-Cash) & Distribution Senior Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring the seamless supply of medicinal products across the United States, Canada, and Distributor Markets. This role is responsible for managing end-to-end O2C and distribution operations, including coordination with Logistics Service Providers (LSPs), wholesalers, specialty pharmacies, and Distributors. The ideal candidate will act as the primary point of contact for operational matters, ensuring timely and compliant delivery of products while fostering strong collaboration with internal teams such as Quality Assurance, Trade Compliance, Commercial Channel Management, and Finance.
This is a hybrid position based in Cambridge, MA, with an estimated 10% travel requirement.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and track customer orders and deliveries, ensuring timely and accurate fulfillment.
- Serve as the first point of contact for escalations related to O2C and customer order delivery.
- Coordinate export deliveries and ensure accurate and timely documentent readiness for e.g. Customs.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve shipping issues (e.g., delays, damages, discrepancies) and implement corrective actions.
- Manage daily interactions with LSPs and Distributors regarding order status, consolidation, and estimated arrival times.
- Act as a liaison between LSPs and Alnylam’s commercial stakeholders.
- Serve as a point of escalation for issues related to O2C and Customer order delivery. Work to resolution with internal and external stakeholders.
- Support the setup of processes for (new) products and evolving distribution models.
- Execute SAP transactions (SD module) including Idoc resolution and movement of goods between various storage locations. Maintain accurate inventory reconciliation and reporting.
- Ensure timely and compliant export documentation for international shipments.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and internal standards (e.g., SOX, GDP, SOPs).
- Provide regular reporting on O2C and distribution performance metrics to management.
- Develop strong understanding of Customer needs through building internal relationships in support of Alnylam’s service delivery model
- Daily interaction with Logistics Service Provider and Distributors related to e.g. order status, order consolidation and ETA’s.
- Provide workable and forward-looking solutions to resolve Customer support related issues effectively; take initiative.
- Ensure compliance and adherence to O2C and Customer Distribution processes (e.g., SOX, GDP, SOP’s)
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain Management, International Trade, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in supply chain, logistics, or order management, preferably in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry.
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills with a proactive, solution-oriented mindset, have a “can-do” attitude
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; able to engage confidently with internal and external stakeholders, driven by an excellent sensibility for Customer satisfaction
- Fluent in English; Spanish proficiency is a plus.
- Familiarity with logistics and warehouse management processes.
- Solid understanding of international trade and export documentation requirements.
- Experience working in cross-functional, multicultural teams.
- Proficiency in SAP (S/4HANA preferred), Microsoft Office (especially Excel); Smartsheet experience is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- High level of integrity, customer focus, and commitment to operational excellence.
