Overview
Reporting to the Sr. Director, Global Head of Corporate Brand and Creative, the Social Media Manager will have the opportunity to be part of a growing team developing social media, digital and corporate brand communications for an innovative global biopharmaceutical company. From concept through execution, the Manager will help develop social media plans and social media content that bring our corporate brand and key messages to life across our social media channels, paid social advertising and other audience touchpoints. Corporate Brand and Creative sit within a high-performing, high-energy, fun and collaborative Corporate Communications team.
This is a hybrid position and will primarily be located in Cambridge, MA.
Responsibilities
- Partner with the Sr. Director, Global Head of Corporate Brand and Creative to identify social media priorities, manage resources, and support execution of key initiatives.
- Design, implement, manage, and measure targeted paid social media programs across platforms including Facebook, X/Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, and YouTube.
- Manage the master social media editorial calendar in partnership with internal stakeholders, agency partners, and cross-functional teams including Product Communications, Global Medical, Investor Relations, and HR/Talent Acquisition.
- Develop corporate and disease awareness content for Alnylam’s social media channels, overseeing day-to-day publishing, monitoring, engagement, maintenance, and issue escalation.
- Collaborate with internal and external partners to develop social-first content that reflects platform best practices, Alnylam standards, and applicable regulatory and legal considerations.
- Partner with agency and creative resources supporting social media, digital, content, and creative initiatives, including light design work using tools such as Canva and Adobe Creative Cloud.
- Analyze social media performance, produce dashboards and measurement reports, and translate insights into actionable optimization recommendations.
- Help evaluate 3rd party tools and technology (including AI) to scale Alnylam’s social media workflow and implement selected solutions
- Conduct social listening and competitive analysis to identify trends, influencers, opportunities, and potential risks.
- Manage financial and administrative aspects of social media-related vendor engagements, including statements of work, purchase orders, and invoicing.
Qualifications
- BA/BS degree in Public Relations, Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field preferred.
- 3–5 years of experience developing, managing, and measuring social media programs, ideally within a pharmaceutical, biotech, healthcare, agency, or other regulated environment.
- Strong social media writing skills, with the ability to conceptualize and create compelling, audience-specific content across platforms.
- Experience managing organic and paid social media campaigns across platforms such as LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, X/Twitter, YouTube, and Meta.
- Experience using social media management (ex. Sprout, Sprinklr), listening, analytics, and reporting tools; familiarity with Google Analytics preferred.
- Ability to create design assets for social media using templates and perform light graphic design work; experience with Canva or Adobe Creative Cloud preferred.
- Ability to shoot and edit video for social media
- Interest in technology and functional understanding of AI in a marketing/communications context
- Excellent organizational, communication, prioritization, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

U.S. Pay Range
$110,500.00 - $149,500.00
The pay range reflects the full-time base salary range we expect to pay for this role at the time of posting. Base pay will be determined based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, skills, and education. This role is eligible for an annual short-term incentive award (e.g., bonus or sales incentive) and an annual long-term incentive award (e.g., equity).
