The Associate Director, Contract Manufacturing Pack and Label

The Associate Director, Contract Manufacturing Pack and Label is a standalone role responsible for the strategic and operational management of contract manufacturers (CMOs) supporting commercial packaging and labeling operations within a defined region. This role functions without a global lead and is accountable for both day-to-day execution and higher-level supplier governance activities. The regional lead partners cross-functionally to ensure supplier performance, compliance with regulatory requirements, and cost optimization aligned to business goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the primary relationship owner for regional packaging and labeling CMOs, managing all aspects of performance, compliance, and service delivery.
- Develop and implement regional supplier governance frameworks, including KPIs, business reviews, and escalation protocols.
- Lead cross-functional engagement with Quality, Regulatory, Supply Chain, and Commercial to ensure seamless execution of labeling and packaging operations.
- Monitor supplier adherence to service level agreements (SLAs), cost controls, and operational metrics.
- Own end-to-end change control coordination for regional packaging-related changes, ensuring regulatory and operational readiness.
- Manage budget forecasting, invoice reconciliation, and supplier cost tracking in coordination with Finance.
- Support serialization, artwork change implementation, and new product introductions for the region.
- Lead or contribute to audits, supplier qualifications, and process improvement initiatives.
- Serve as the escalation point for supplier issues impacting product availability, quality, or compliance.
- Collaborate with other regional leads to ensure consistency in supplier engagement where shared CMOs exist.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, engineering, life sciences, or a related field (advanced degree preferred).
- 8+ years of experience in the biopharma industry, including significant supplier-facing roles.
- Strong understanding of commercial supply chain operations, GMP requirements, and regulatory labeling standards.
- Demonstrated experience managing complex supplier relationships and driving continuous improvement.
- Strong communication, leadership, and analytical skills.
- Ability to operate independently in a matrixed, fast-paced environment.
U.S. Pay Range
$159,800.00 - $216,200.00
The pay range reflects the full-time base salary range we expect to pay for this role at the time of posting. Base pay will be determined based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, skills, and education. This role is eligible for an annual short-term incentive award (e.g., bonus or sales incentive) and an annual long-term incentive award (e.g., equity).
