Overview  

 

The Associate Director Marketing leads several marketing projects and manages the marketing team in Germany.  

 

This role develops and executes marketing /communication tactics for the ATTR franchise in Germany such as congresses, materials, omnichannel campaigns and any other commercially impactful activities supporting the franchise.  

 

The Associate Director Marketing sets targets and assesses business impact and field team feedback about the delivered materials. Works closely with the commercial field teams to maximize adoption of the marketing deliverables and their adequation with the field needs. Delivers any tactics and projects with the appropriate amount of inputs gathering, communication, training, and follow ups to maximize the field impact. 

 

In addition to the day-to-day operational tasks and leading projects, the Associate Director Marketing also contributes to the strategic brand planning, forecasting assumptions, generation of market insights, cooperation with the International Team, adaptation of the international strategy to the German market, cross-functional alignment with Medical, Market Access and Regulatory and leading the execution of the local tactical plan.   

 

The successful candidate will report to the Country Manager, Germany. The position is hybrid 2x days week in our Munich office. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

 

  • Project management: Manage various marketing projects (omnichannel, congresses, meetings, materials…), tracking and ensuring progress in a structured and transparent manner facilitating leadership overview. Demonstrate excellence in project management and effectively managing multiple projects and priorities.  

  • Budget management: Manage annual promotional budget for the assigned activities, conducting ROI assessments of tactical programs and ensures proper execution. 

  • External focus: Plan and organize external events with HCPs , and engage with KOLs. 

  • Collaboration: Work closely with the Country Manager and the DE LT to align on strategic priorities and support the execution of high-impact initiatives. 

  • Omnichannel: Drive the development and implementation of an omnichannel communication plan (digital & print). 

  • Campaign Management: Plan, execute, and evaluate marketing campaigns for the ATTR franchise in Germany, using the materials and strategy provided by the international marketing teams, and ensuring they meet strategic objectives.   

  • Train the sales team to the available materials and collect feedback. 

  • Content Development: Translate and approve educational material and concepts directed to physicians, patients, and nurses as provided by the international team. Raise needs for the creation of marketing materials, including digital content, brochures, and presentations, to the international team when necessary. In exceptional cases, create local materials as required while ensuring consistency with international brand guidelines and proactively gathering inputs from the field teams. 

  • Brand planning: Lead to the local strategic brand planning, coordinating and organizing close cross-functional collaboration. Ensure flawless implementation of the German TTR Brand plan in line with the International TTR Brand plan and in cooperation with cross-functional stakeholders in the International region and in Germany / other countries as relevant (eg CH/AT). 

  • Insights generation: Leverage primary and secondary market research and competitor analytics critical to aligning brand strategy and optimizing marketing tactics. 

  • Compliance: Collaborate proactively with the Commercial Review Board (CRB) team includinglegal, regulatory, medical, and compliance stakeholders to ensure compliant development and execution of marketing initiativesFoster regular exchange with the field force to continuously support execution in the field. 

  • Take a lead role in representing the German affiliate when participating at international team meetings and as a backup of the Sr Mgr Marketing in case of absence.  

 

 

Qualifications 

 

  • University degree in a related field or comparable educational background 

  • 10+ years’ experience, thereof minimum of 6 years of experience in pharmaceutical industry  

  • Previous experience in pharmaceutical product management and/or sales is required

  • Hands-on mentality and willingness to take responsibility for strategic and operational topics 

  • Proven track record in project management and effectively managing multiple projects/priorities 

  • In-depth knowledge and experience in rare diseases and ideally cardiology 

  • Pronounced resilience, positive and solution focused thinking and acting 

  • Hands on mindset: operationally excellent 

  • Organized with systematic approach to prioritization 

  • Sense of urgency, ethics, and responsibility  

  • Fluent in German and English 

  • Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time locally and internationally
