Overview
The Associate Director, Advanced Analytics, will lead efforts in predictive and prescriptive analytics, leveraging data science techniques such as machine learning, advanced statistical modeling, and scenario analysis. This role will focus on uncovering future trends and optimizing strategies for long-term business success, focused on Europe and Japan.
This role will interact regularly with internal stakeholders and external agencies, define, and propose appropriate data and technology solutions for key business challenges, and deliver key actionable insights for our international partners.

The position will be based in Zug, Switzerland.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead the development and execution of analytic strategies in Europe and Japan to enhance customer experience through advanced analytics.
- Apply predictive models and advanced techniques like machine learning and AI to uncover key insights and forecast customer behaviors, sales trends, and regional market dynamics.
- Partner closely with Commercial Marketing, Business Intelligence, and Business Operations teams to enhance Global strategy and improve customer-centric experience using data-driven, predictive, and prescriptive analytics.
- Develop and refine analytics strategies using tools like SQL, R, and Python to identify patterns, automate decision-making, and strengthen insights in Europe and Japan, while ensuring compliance with country- and region-specific regulations.
2. Drive data strategy and lead cross-functional collaboration by leveraging advanced analytics techniques.
- Collaborate with International customer experience and innovation leads to source, onboard, and integrate new data assets tailored to European regional or country-level needs, including Japan, using advanced data science methodologies to align commercial objectives.
- Identify, acquire, and utilize diverse data sources across Europe and Japan to uncover insights into unmet patient needs and drive earlier diagnosis and treatment, fostering improved health outcomes and market impact.
- Engage frequently with US partners to align on Global data strategy and commercial objectives.
- Support cross-functional efforts to co-design KPIs and performance metrics by employing predictive and prescriptive analytics to monitor and analyze International commercial performance, using machine learning models to identify opportunities for improvement.
3. Perform Ex-US commercial analytics through data science to inform strategic planning, product launches, competitive positioning, and market access:
- Use advanced statistical modeling, scenario analysis, and AI techniques to perform ad-hoc commercial analytics, supporting long-term decision-making across the commercial value chain, including inputs for LRP, launch metrics, and market access analytics.
- Work closely with global stakeholders, using advanced analytics tools like Python, R, and SAS to ensure alignment on international analytics strategies and solutions and drive key decisions with cutting-edge insights.
- Contribute to shaping and generating timely brand specific market access analytics in response to International regional and country-level market access issues and trends, with considerations of the Global market and regional variations.
Qualifications
- Robust understanding of major European regional or country-specific healthcare systems, including Japan, with a proven track record of uncovering and communicating actionable insights derived from data originating from these markets.
- Minimum of 9 years of experience in analytics or strategic roles within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or healthcare industry, with the ability to work and lead complex international projects.
- Experience in effectively communicating with stakeholders of different management levels up to executives. Advanced skills in PowerPoint strongly preferred.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with data analytics, performing complex analyses, and generating actionable insights.
- Proficiency with data analytics tools such as Alteryx, SQL, R or Python; understanding of machine learning and AI techniques is a plus.
- Experience with EHR, administrative claims, and laboratory data (e.g., IQVIA, Komodo, Symphony claims data).
- Familiar with Field Teams functions and with CRM, lead generation tools, and next best action enablement strategies.
- Comprehensive understanding of global data compliance, with experience navigating regional or country-specific regulations (e.g., GDPR).
- Ability to drive deadlines, balance multiple priorities, and ensure quality standards. Project management experience is a plus.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills, capable of engaging and influencing stakeholders across various levels and across Global teams, with a focus on customer experience.
- Excellent attention to detail, innovative thinking, and the ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
