Associate Director, Medical Training

We are seeking a growth and improvement-minded Associate Director, Medical Training to serve as a critical member of the Global Medical Training team. The Medical Training Associate Director is a role within the Scientific Communications team in Global Medical Affairs and reports directly to the Director, Global Medical Training. The AD, Medical Training will serve as Therapeutic Area Training Lead and be responsible for primarily supporting our International Market team, while continuously working with the Global Medical and US-focused business to ensure consistency in our training curriculum across Alnylam portfolio (commercial and pipeline as required).
This position will be in-office/hybrid based in Zug, Switzerland.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the strategic International medical training plan to drive measurable capability development and business impact
- Oversee onboarding of new hires to the International Medical Affairs organization, and continuous education
- Execute on therapeutic area training, competencies, compliance, and quality of external interactions
- Collaborate with cross functional stakeholders at global, regional and national level to develop engaging training programs for a diverse global medical team
- Design training to optimize impactful stakeholder engagement which enables informed patient-centric access and therapy decisions by communicating a strategic, harmonized and impactful medical message to the medical community
- Establish yourself as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) across the region, being able to deliver content training and/or coach others as necessary to the medical team and others as needs arise
- Serve as a field coach to MSLs, providing guidance, feedback, and support to enhance scientific engagement skills and overall effectiveness in external interactions
- Collaborate with global, regional and national Therapeutic Leaders to produce engaging content and activities for live trainings, virtual trainings and micro e-learnings supporting the overall medical strategy and vision
- Identify and develop skill and competency training to enhance confident, effective and aligned engagements with the medical community
- Closely collaborate with the Global Medical organization and commercial colleagues to align on training priorities and build strategic and customized curricula for medical teams based on identified needs and emerging clinical data
- Develop ongoing training curricula to reinforce medical strategy and educational updates on emerging clinical data, disease state advancements and health system priorities.
- Effectively foster and manage a collaborative, creative relationship with the many cross-functional stakeholders as well as external contributors and vendors
- Utilize adequate and effective technology and instructional design to optimize and create innovative new forms of engaging trainings and updates that are easily accessable to the target audience

Qualifications
- PhD, PharmD, or MD in scientific study with 5+ years experience and proven track record in training and project management in the biopharmaceutical industry
- Ability to transform strategic imperatives and medical direction into training deliverables
- Experience in working within a highly matrixed organization to deliver strong results
- Thorough understanding of the multiple facets of clinical research, clinical development, medical affairs, market access and ourcomes research
- Knowledge and understanding of clinical priorities for different healthcare professionals including physicians, nurses, pharmacist, researchers and research associates
- Proven history in developing engaging trainings incorporating adult learning principles and re-fresher training follow up which maximize impact
- Ability to develop strong, professional, collaborative and productive relationships with a spirit and ability to align around vision to drive positive results
- Digital experience a plus
- Ability to rapidly build and apply clinical subject matter expertise, including synthesizing complex scientific and clinical information; capable of serving as a credible clinical SME.
- Experience in cardiology or neurology a plus
